Cloth Diaper Folds for 6 Month Old

Contrary to what everyone thinks, disposable diapers are not the only solution. After all, people did use other alternatives before disposable diapers became a thing. That means that as a parent, you have other options to choose from before you spend a heavy amount on them, and that includes cloth diapers.

Cloth diapers have come a long way from the old and simplistic pieces of fabrics. Sure, you still have to scrape the waste in the toilet instead of simply throwing in the trash can, but for some families, this is still a much better choice.

Given below are different cloth diaper folds for a 6 months old baby.

Origami Fold

This fold is not very difficult, but they name might imply otherwise. Although, you do need to work with precision. First of all, lay the cloth flat, fold it in half, make another half fold, and then create an upside down triangle by pulling the first layer of right side at bottom corner diagonally. Now you have to flip over they diaper, then fold the square piece two times. Finally, you can out your baby’s bottom on the diaper, then all that is left to do is to fold the bottom end over the bay and securing the wings on the waist with a safety pin. This fold is suitable equally for boys and girls.

Pad Fold

One of the easiest cloth diaper folds, pad fold has to be adjusted a bit for baby boys on the front, and for girls, in the middle by adding extra layers. Simply fold the diaper lengthwise in half, repeat the step crosswise, and then in to thirds. Simply place it in the cover, and you are done.

Kite Folds

This fold is suitable for boys, or children who sleep on their front. This one involves four steps only. From the longer sides, fold the right and left corners in to the center in such a way that they are overlapping. Now you have to fold the top and bottom corners two edges and a quarter respectively, then create a trapezoid by folding the bottom in the upward direction again. Now, put your baby on that, and fold it over them in the trapezoid portion, and secure everything with the help of two security pins.

Triangle Fold

Another fold suitable for both genders, this is also very easy to do. First, flatten out the diaper, with the corner facing you. Then fold it in half, making a triangle, and place the baby over it. Now, fold the corner upwards from between the legs, and then pin everything down by security pin. Although, if you are using a rectangular diaper, then adjust it by creating a square.

Bikini Twist Fold

This one is more suitable for the girls, but very easy to do. After laying the diaper flat, twist it from the bottom into crisscross, place it on baby, and the fold it over the baby’s bottom. Make sure that the twist is between the legs, and finally, use safety pins to secure the wings around the waist, making it tight and snug.
